A cyclist has been awarded £65,000 in compensation after suffering an injury caused by a dog walker allowing her dog lead to become entangled in his bike. 59-year-old Anthony Steele suffered serious injuries in the incident after he was thrown off his bike when the dog darted in front of him and caused the lead to become entangled in the spokes. A man who suffered severe head injuries after being attacked on a night out was told by paramedics that he was not seriously injured. 48-year-old Stephen Potts has been jailed after some of his dogs attacked and severely injured a 63-year-old man. The American Bulldog breeder, who previously lost an arm after being mauled by two of his own dogs, had let a group of his animals off the lead when they decided to attack Lindsay Edwards last October. Following last week’s rollercoaster crash at Alton Towers, bosses at Merlin Entertainments have agreed to pay compensation to all 16 people injured in the accident. Torbay Hospital in Devon is to payout £2.17million in compensation after a boy suffered severe brain-damage during his birth.  The child suffered the brain-damage in 2004 due to his brain being starved of oxygen during labour. While potholes continue to cause serious injury all over the UK, Kingston Council has recently received seven compensation claims from injured cyclists who blame pothole-damaged roads. Only one of these seven claimants actually received compensation, with £700 going to a cyclist injured on Grafton Road, New Malden, in October of last year. A further six cyclists came forward with injury claims between 2012 and April 2014, however none of them received any compensation.
