Claim for Foot Injuries in Birmingham & the West Midlands
If you have been injured in the last three years, and it wasn’t your fault, you may be able to claim compensation. The amount you are able to claim depends on the type and severity of your injury. Friends Legal Birmingham can help you claim the personal injury compensation you are entitled to. Our compensation guide outlines the levels of compensation for some of the most common types of injury.
Foot Injury Compensation
Injuries to the feet are less common than injuries to other parts of the leg – but can be just as serious. Your foot is a delicate collection of bones and ligaments and can be injured by tripping or falling, or by impact – by something falling on or crushing them. This is often the case with work-related injuries.
Loss of both feet can be just as serious as losing your legs and the law reflects this in the compensation it awards.
What level of compensation can I expect to receive for a foot injury?
- Amputation of both feet: £111,000 – £132,000
- Amputation of one foot: £55,000 – £72,000
Very severe foot injuries
£55,000 – £72,000
Injuries within this bracket will cause permanent, severe pain and serious permanent disability.
£30,000 – £44,200
Fractures of both feet or heels with a substantial reduction in mobility. This level may also be awarded for exceptionally serious injuries to both feet.
£16,400 – £25,750
The top end of this bracket is reserved for serious injuries which cause permanent disfigurement and cause permanent pain or irritation.
Up to £16,400
This category is broad and is reserved for less serious injuries. Simple fractures, ligament damage and ongoing symptoms such as pain and limping are within this bracket. If recovery is completed within a year an award of up to £4,350 will be made.
