A motorcyclist, who received multiple injuries when a car suddenly reversed into him whilst stationary on a road, has won £9,000 in compensation. The complainant was sitting on his motorbike when the car shot back, causing the petrol tank to ram him in the groin. He then fell over, and his bike landed on top of him, causing him soft tissue damage to his back, legs, shoulders, knees, and scrotum. Following an accident earlier this year – which saw a woman receive £100,000 in compensation following a bike accident caused by farm waste on the road – farmers have been reminded of their legal obligation to keep the roads free of mud and waste. 23-year-old Connor Potkins is finally beginning to rebuild his life after suffering serious injuries in a hit-and-run accident. New figures have revealed that motorbike accidents lead to the most expensive injury claims when insurance has not been purchased. With cycling accidents (£6,262) and falling on stairs (£2,422) following closely behind in cost, people may start to rethink their methods of transport when on holiday.
